Our Story

Cahuita is one of the most representative communities of Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean, renowned for its Afro-Caribbean heritage and remarkable natural beauty. Founded by Afro-descendant populations, primarily of Jamaican origin, it has preserved unique traditions, cuisine, and cultural expressions. From its beginnings as a small fishing and cocoa-producing village, Cahuita has evolved into a renowned destination following the creation of Cahuita National Park, celebrated for its extraordinary biodiversity and the strong connection between the local community and conservation efforts.
